Governor Asks IL Businesses to Push for Pension and Medicaid Changes
From WUIS: Governor Pat Quinn is urging business owners to support his plans for overhauling state employee pensions and Medicaid. He spoke to a gathering of Illinois manufacturers and retailers in Springfield…Mark Denzler is vice president of the Illinois Manufacturer’s Association. “Well Illinois businesses want to operate in state that’s not bankrupt, that’s not on the edge of a fiscal abyss. Illinois Manufacturers' Incentive Program (IMIP)

The Illinois Manufacturers' Association recently added a new incentive program to assist members planning significant consolidation or expansion projects. For those companies considering new capital investments that will exceed $2.5 million and will create at least 25 new jobs, the Illinois Manufacturers' Incentive Program (IMIP) could provide significant savings. It has already saved a number of IMA members several million dollars. If this situation fits your company, please take a few minutes to answer the following questions. The person you designate will then be contacted to package your project and obtain the maximum assistance possible.

This program is administered by economic development professionals who have successfully negotiated many of the major manufacturing expansions in Illinois over the past 20 years. The cost of this service is insignificant relative to the benefits you may receive. Under the current business climate, we are making every effort to ensure that our members are able to take advantage of every possible cost-saving measure. The IMIP is one more tool that the IMA members now have to help.

If you have any questions about IMIP, please contact Mark Frech at (217) 522-1240, Ext. 3022.
